Standard mixer, can't do anything too drastic with it, but I noticed the last time I took the beaters out of the dishwasher they had rusted. These are not stainless beaters and they will rust. It was under $15 and I did not expect much but I did expect it to work more than a few times without dying and burning up right in the middle of a recipe. The thing practically caught on fire. We couldn't get the burning smell out of the house for hours. I emailed Proctor Silex which is actually Hamilton Beach. At first, they were acting like they were going to do something. Then they emailed me for the product number and series number. When I sent that, they said they could do nothing without a receipt and that without a receipt they would assume I had the mixer for over 6 months. They told me to cut the cord off the mixer and dispose of it in a safe manner. HAHAHAHAHA. I wrote and asked them if there was a danger in a burned up mixer turning back on by itself?
