That could be for a overnight motel stay or for an extended stay without a direct 12V power source. All you need is a 110 volt wall outlet.I have used this use this on my Koolatron Voyager Thermoelectric Cooler - P-27 as well as my B & D cooler for quite a few years now with no problems. This converter is compatible with B&D cooler's, but will also work well with most other coolers and 12V appliances provided they don't have over a 6 amp power draw, " Most are under 6 amp ". It kept the cooler working in the hotel rooms. I did notice that it would get fairly warm during the process though, so I took extra pains to set it on smooth surfaces such as a table or on smooth flooring.
