Finding a blender that will hold up to consistent, everyday use--without fail has been difficult. Nothing seems to be made to last anymore. Things seem to last only a few months-- to a year at best before requiring replacement. I bought this Oster, to replace a Black and Decker blender that was shoddy, poor quality and only lasted 5 months! This machine has a motor strong enough to crush the frozen fruit that I use daily, without leaving chunks behind. It is loud, but I couldn't care less as long as it gets the job done. It does take awhile for all of the fruit to blend though, and sometimes I have to stop the machine and stir before re-starting. That can be annoying. While it's not my ideal choice, it is the more than adequate, and if you don't need to use it day in and day out like I do--you should be very happy with it.Oh and FYI If you're making smoothies, keep all of the fruit frozen--I even peel and... If you do get it on tight enough, count on getting some shredded fingers to get it apart because of the poorly designed base. Absolutely TERRIBLE. My wife and I argue about who was the final decider to get this because neither one of us want to own up to it. Look forward to pain and misery with this purchase. |
