To be honest I do not spend a lot of time thinking about "specs" for a blender. My old one finally gave up, I needed a new one and this seemed reasonable. I just want to make my morning smoothie and get on with the day. I mean you can't mess up a blender, right? Wrong. The idiots designing this thing apparently never used it. Problems- well for one, you unscrew the glass jar portion from the base for cleaning in the same direction as you unscrew the entire top unit to empty the contents. This means if you are not extremely careful you will dump the entire contents of the jar all over the unit and everything else when you try and empty the unit. The jar sticks as well which accents the problem. Another problem- the goofy little top which is supposed to be a measuring cup I guess continually comes off the unit. If I ever find my receipt this piece of junk goes back.

I took this blender back after using it once. I also had the experience of it leaking no matter how tight you tightened it. Then it was tightened so tight I couldn't get it apart to clean it even though it was still leaking. It is the worst designed blender I have ever used. Avoid wasting your time and money buying this blender.

I just took this thing out of the box, put it together, correctly, and added water and soap in order to clean it on the "clean" speed. Well the water starts leaking out of the bottom of the jar immediately! It leaks out from between the rubber gasket and glass rim on bottom of jar. No matter how well I screw on the black plastic jar base to try and tighten the gasket, it just keeps on leaking! I haven't even used it yet! OMG. No wonder it was on sale for $24.99 at Target! Unless my fiancé can get the gasket to stop leaking, I'm gonna have to take this back to the store. What a waste of time! I also completely agree with the first review that was posted about the dumb design of the base, considering how you have to twist it to get it off of the motor. If the plastic jar base sticks to the motor unit, as you're twisting it, the contents will easily spill out as the base disconnects from the jar. It already happened to me with just water.
