It started leaking after heavy use with nuts and dates, and that type of thing. I bought this one as my replacement. I love it so far. Compared to the cheapest one Wal-Mart had, this one feels rugged, when you use it. It is SOLID. It is quieter than the last one I had, and definitely more powerful. You have to keep your hands on it though, while its working. But, that's a good thing to do with any blender. I like the fact that it has both blender and processor all in one. Saves counter space, and works great. Great for dorm, camper, small apartments, and even bigger homes. There are pricier ones out that, but I've never used anything higher priced than this one. I am satisfied with this one, and don't regret the purchase. I feel like I got a good value for my money.Perhaps the negative reviewers put too much in at once, or didn't use enough liquid. But, unfortunately, either I got a lemon or the Oster Blender/Food Processor is an underpowered waste of money. I use it mainly to make smoothies not a heavy duty use or complex procedure. The first few times I used it, it was all right, not W0W, but adequate. But with repeated use over a period of time it just wore out. So far I love it! I especially love the food processor. It's powerful enough for what I need it to do (make smoothies, green drinks, peanut butter, hummus, etc). I realize it's on the cheaper side and that I'll probably have to replace it in a year or two, but it worked for my budget. I have noticed that it isn't the best at crushing ice and some frozen fruit, notably strawberries. Usually if I add some liquid (coconut/almond milk or water) it gets better. I have yet to make a truly smooth smoothie with it, but I'm also impatient.Typical use: 2-3 times per week Pros: food processor works very well, blender does crush ice...eventually, I like the glass blending pitcher, everything comes apart easily for cleaning (everything is also dishwasher safe) Cons: there's still that burning smell after many uses (it goes away after a couple of pulses), lots of speeds that...
